Karnataka BJP Leader Demands Apology from Siddaramaiah for Insulting Remarks

Bengaluru, February 11: Senior BJP leader and former minister M.P. Renukacharya has condemned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for referring to the Prime Minister as a “coward,” calling it an insult to all Indians.

During a media briefing at the BJP office ‘Jagannath Bhavan’ in Bengaluru, Renukacharya demanded that Siddaramaiah apologize to the nation and seek forgiveness from 1.4 billion citizens. He recalled that in 2014, Siddaramaiah labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “mass murderer,” and the public had responded to such remarks during elections.

Renukacharya stated, “For the sake of power, you bow down to Sonia Gandhi, immature politician Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Does such behavior suit an experienced leader like you?”

He emphasized that Prime Minister Modi did not flee in fear. The Congress party attempted to protest through its female members, but the Prime Minister chose not to participate at the suggestion of the Lok Sabha Speaker. He questioned, “Are you using such language because you slip up?”

He continued, “You make these statements regarding power. Siddaramaiah has been in office for three years; what are your achievements? By using such language, the Congress party has lost its identity in the country.”

Renukacharya pointed out, “Isn’t a tea seller the Prime Minister of this country today?” He noted that while “Indira is India” was once a slogan, the Congress now lacks both a foothold and a future.

He also alleged that senior leaders are distancing themselves from Siddaramaiah. “You speak of Prime Minister Modi’s strength. The wise voters of this country did not give your party a chance to become the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Didn’t the U.S. President lower tariffs? That is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strength.”

He further remarked, “During the Pahalgam attack, did they ask if the victims were Hindu or Muslim before shooting? The swift destruction of terrorist hideouts in retaliation showcases Prime Minister Modi’s strength.”

Renukacharya concluded, “Siddaramaiah, you are a senior politician, and I respect you, but you must unconditionally apologize for insulting Prime Minister Modi.” He accused Siddaramaiah of spreading misinformation regarding the VB-G Ramji scheme, which has already received approval from the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and the President. He also claimed that Siddaramaiah attempted to elicit false statements from the Governor, asserting that Congress is now only in power in three states.

Notably, Siddaramaiah recently labeled the passage of the thank-you motion for the President’s address in the Lok Sabha, without the Prime Minister’s traditional response, as “an act of cowardice.”
