Mumbai, March 20: Bollywood actress and MP Kangana Ranaut has responded strongly to comments made by Pappu Yadav regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Yadav recently referred to Kangana as “snacks and chutney,” prompting a fierce backlash from the actress.
Kangana condemned Yadav’s remarks, labeling them as misogynistic. She expressed her anger on social media, stating that women in Bollywood have often been reduced to mere item numbers, but the language used against them has now become increasingly crude.
In her Instagram story, Kangana countered Yadav’s statement, saying, “He called me snacks or chutney just because I mentioned that Rahul Gandhi behaves inappropriately, hugging people and making uncomfortable comments about women.”
She further added, “The opposition has unleashed a torrent of derogatory language against me. I am a filmmaker, writer, and actress. They have reduced me to a mere snack or chutney. When I entered the film industry, women were only doing item songs, and now I am being called snacks and chutney. It is time to challenge this misogynistic mindset.”
Kangana had previously referred to Rahul Gandhi as a “tapori” in a media statement, criticizing his behavior in Parliament. She suggested that he learn manners and moral values from his sister, Priyanka Gandhi. This comment sparked significant opposition, with Pappu Yadav also targeting her in response.
