JIH President Husaini Condemns Kabul Attack, Calls for Peace and Protection of Civilians

New Delhi, March 19: Syed Saadatullah Husaini, the President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), has strongly condemned the alleged Pakistani airstrike on a hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. This tragic incident resulted in the loss of hundreds of innocent lives and left many others injured.

In a statement to the media, Husaini expressed, “We vehemently condemn the alleged airstrike by Pakistan on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul, where over 400 people were killed and more than 250 injured. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and show our solidarity with the people of Afghanistan during this sorrowful time.”

Reports indicate that the attack occurred at night, causing significant damage to the facility, which housed a large number of vulnerable and ill patients. Hospitals are places of care and safety, and any attack on such institutions is a serious violation of international humanitarian principles. The loss of life and property in such circumstances, especially among those already in crisis and seeking treatment, underscores the devastating humanitarian cost of armed conflict.

Husaini noted, “This tragic event comes amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where repeated cross-border attacks and accusations have worsened the situation. The ongoing conflict between these two neighboring countries poses a risk of deepening instability in the region. The destruction of civilian infrastructure and the rising number of casualties highlight the urgent need for all parties to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions.”

The JIH President further stated, “War between these two neighboring countries must be avoided at all costs, and it should not be allowed to escalate under any circumstances. Maintaining regional stability is crucial, as any increase in tensions could have severe consequences for the entire region.”

He emphasized that all issues and differences should be resolved through dialogue and reconciliation, rather than through the use of force or military confrontation. Husaini appealed to both Pakistan and Afghanistan to exercise extreme restraint and avoid any actions that could further endanger innocent lives. He also urged the international community to ensure a fair investigation into this incident, so that the truth can emerge and accountability can be established. Lasting peace can only be achieved through justice, respect for human dignity, and adherence to international law.
