Jammu and Kashmir Government Deploys 63 Officials for Amarnath Yatra 2026

Srinagar, June 16: The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed 63 officials on a temporary basis to assist the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB). These officials will serve as camp directors and additional camp directors at various camps along the route to the cave shrine.

A government order stated that the deployment of officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service was approved to ensure the smooth operation of the pilgrimage.

The Amarnath Yatra 2026 is officially set to begin on July 3 and will conclude on August 28, lasting for 57 days.

Among the appointed officials are Jagdish Singh (Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba), Virendra Kumar Manyal (Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Patnitop), Chandra Prakash (Additional Secretary, Jal Shakti Department), Atul Kumar (Additional Secretary, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Department), Vikas Dhar Bagati (Additional Secretary, Tourism Department), Vikas Anand (Joint Registrar), Gurdev Kumar (Joint Director, School Education, Jammu), Akhil Sadhotra (Project Officer, Kathua), Vikas Sharma (Under Secretary, Higher Education Department), Vishal Singh Parihar (Revenue Attorney, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu), Manoj Kumar (Project Officer, Wage Employment, Kishtwar), Om Prakash (Project Officer, Wage Employment, Udhampur), Chandra Kant Bhagat (District Mineral Officer, Kishtwar), and Sanjeev Kumar (Block Development Officer, Chiralla, Doda).

The government order further mentioned that the control officer will release the aforementioned officials, allowing them to report to the office of the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board on the designated date.

The exact deployment of these officials will be managed by SASB. They will continue to receive their salaries during the period of their assignment and will return to their respective positions immediately after the conclusion of Yatra 2026.
