Irans President Advocates for Peace as Nation Stands Strong

Mumbai, August 22: Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian stated on Friday that it is now better to end the war, as Iran is in a position of strength and respect. This statement comes after the recent expiration of a 60-day deadline between the United States and Iran. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump continues to advocate for strict sanctions against Iran.

Pajeshkian made these remarks at the 31st General Assembly of the Islamic Association of the Iranian Medical Society in the capital. According to a statement published on his office’s website, the Iranian president emphasized that the conflict with the United States must come to an end at some point.

He remarked, “It is better to conclude the war today while we are in a position of power and respect, and the entire world acknowledges our victory, emphasizing that the United States has violated all international rules by attacking our schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. The world is criticizing the U.S. for this.”

According to the Xinhua news agency, Pajeshkian described the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States in June as honorable and valuable. He stressed that not a single provision of the agreement suggests surrender, placing all obligations on the other party.

He noted that the achievements made during negotiations with the U.S. were a significant accomplishment, approved unanimously by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, with all members decisively defending it.

However, the president insisted that Iran would not surrender if attacked again. He stated, “We will not bow to attacks under any circumstances. There is no doubt about this. We will stand firm against them until our last breath and respond decisively. Iran’s military commanders and armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country selflessly.”

When asked about a seminar titled “U.S. Attack on Iran under International Law: Aggression or Self-Defense,” Farid Faridasar, director of the Iran Cultural House in New Delhi, mentioned that a high-level group of Iranian lawyers participated in the Gubbi Forum, where journalists, lawyers, academics, and Indian officials engaged in a special discussion on the legal boundaries of the U.S.-Iran conflict.

Regarding the Iran-U.S. conflict, Faridasar stated, “From a legal perspective, the fact is that an act of aggression has been committed against Iran. Under international law, Iran has the right to self-defense and to pursue this matter through international courts.”
