Iran Issues Stark Warning After US Attacks: A Strong and Decisive Response Will Follow

Tehran, May 27: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that it will retaliate if attacks continue. This statement comes after the US military targeted Iranian missile launch sites and armed boats near the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC also reported that 25 vessels passed safely through the Strait of Hormuz under its monitoring and protection in the last 24 hours. These included oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels. According to the IRGC, these ships had obtained prior permission and were granted safe passage.

In a statement released by the IRGC’s official news agency, Sepah News, it was asserted that the navy maintains “smart and firm control” over the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC warned that any “aggressive action” would receive a “strong and decisive response.”

Earlier on Monday, the US military attacked missile launch sites and boats attempting to lay mines in southern Iran. This information was confirmed by the US Central Command.

Central Command spokesperson Tim Hawkins stated, “The US military acted today in self-defense to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces.” He noted that the targets included missile launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to deploy mines at sea. He added that “even during a ceasefire, the US Central Command will continue to ensure the safety of its forces.”

These attacks have heightened concerns over an already fragile ceasefire. Since April 8, efforts have been underway between the US and Iran to negotiate an end to the conflict. This ongoing struggle has also impacted the global economy, particularly causing significant disruptions in oil and energy supplies.

Iran has maintained control over the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, while the US Navy has imposed a blockade on Iranian ports.

Last week, the US Central Command reported that this naval blockade forced 100 ships to alter their routes and resulted in the detention of four vessels.

Since February 28, Iran has tightened its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, denying safe passage to vessels linked to Israel or the US. This decision followed joint attacks on Iranian territory by both nations.

Conversely, the US has also enforced a naval blockade on this maritime route, affecting the movement of ships to and from Iranian ports.
