Iran Dismisses Trumps Claims of Negotiation, U.S. President on the Defensive

New Delhi, March 16: U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly asserted that Iran is eager to negotiate with America. However, Iran has firmly rejected these claims. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the country is not prepared for any ceasefire or discussions.

Following this statement, Trump remarked that Iran is unwilling to negotiate to end the ongoing attacks. Known for making unilateral claims on global issues, Trump appears to be adjusting his stance after the Iranian Foreign Minister’s comments.

In his latest statement, Trump mentioned that the U.S. is in talks with Iran as the conflict enters its third week. However, Tehran is not ready to finalize any deal to bring it to a close.

Trump also indicated that the U.S. is engaging in diplomatic discussions with all nations to curb the ongoing turmoil and tensions in the Middle East and global markets. Nevertheless, he did not provide further details but confirmed his involvement in diplomatic talks with other countries.

Previously, Trump had urged all nations to send their warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, but he has not succeeded in garnering support for this initiative. No country has backed Trump’s decision thus far.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has categorically rejected Trump’s earlier claims, stating that Tehran is prepared to defend itself for as long as necessary against this unlawful war. He emphasized, “We have never called for a ceasefire, nor have we ever sought negotiations. We are ready to defend ourselves as long as needed.”

He added that Iran will continue its operations until President Trump acknowledges that this is an illegal war with no victor.

Araghchi further stated, “We see no reason to engage in talks with the Americans. We were negotiating when they decided to attack us, and that was the second time.”

Earlier, Trump claimed that Iran had shown interest in negotiations. However, he stressed that Washington will not rush into a ceasefire agreement while the war continues. Trump stated, “Iran wants to make a deal, but I do not want to because the conditions are not good enough yet.”
