Iran Demonstrates Military Might with Missile Strike 4,000 Kilometers Away

New Delhi, March 21: The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States-Israel alliance is beginning to impact the global economy. What was once confined to the Middle East is now expanding into various regions.

Recently, Iran launched an attack on a military base in the Indian Ocean, targeting the U.S. and U.K. facility at Diego Garcia. According to The Wall Street Journal, Iran fired at least two mid-range ballistic missiles at this strategic base.

Reports indicate that one missile failed mid-flight, while the other was intercepted by a U.S. interceptor launched from a warship. Diego Garcia is located in the central Indian Ocean, south of the equator.

This attack, occurring approximately 4,000 kilometers from Iran, clearly demonstrates that the range of Iranian missiles is greater than previously believed.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed last month that the country had limited its missile range to 2,000 kilometers. However, this latest strike raises questions about the accuracy of that statement. If Iran indeed lacks missiles with a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers, what type of missiles were used to strike Diego Garcia? No information has been released by Iranian officials regarding this matter.

Furthermore, Diego Garcia is located 1,800 kilometers from India. The U.S. and U.K. utilize this airbase to conduct operations across Asia and the Middle East. It serves as a crucial military hub for the U.S. strategy in these regions. From this base, the U.S. deploys bombers, nuclear submarines, and guided missile ships. It also houses extensive fuel storage, radar systems, and control towers that facilitate long-range military operations.

Iran’s recent attack has raised concerns on multiple levels. While there has been no official response from the U.S. and U.K. regarding the incident, it is evident that Iran has dealt a significant blow to its adversaries.
