Mumbai, March 21: Thousands of Muslims gathered in mosques across the country on Saturday morning to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. In Mumbai, the economic capital of India, both small and large mosques saw large crowds for the prayers, all under tight security as attendees prayed for peace and harmony.
At the YMCA Grounds in Mumbai Central and the Mahim Dargah, thousands came together to offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Among the attendees was AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan, who joined the large gathering. Prayers were held between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM at prominent mosques including the Pankhe Shah Dargah in Ghatkopar, Mahim Dargah, and several others throughout the city. Early in the morning, a significant number of worshippers filled the mosques and dargahs. Major mosques in Colaba, Mohammad Ali Road, Byculla, and Bandra also held prayers after 7:00 AM. Following the prayers, attendees exchanged hugs and Eid greetings.
On this occasion, Waris Pathan extended heartfelt Eid wishes to all citizens during an interview. He also addressed the Israel-Iran conflict, stating, “I have always maintained that war is not a solution. The oppressive leaders Netanyahu and Trump brutally killed 165 children in Iran during the holy month of Ramadan. No one condemned this; everyone remains silent. We have previously urged India to intervene, as this conflict will also affect India, and we are beginning to see its repercussions. Today, over 20% of restaurants are closed due to the war, there is a gas shortage in the country, and people are suffering.”
Pathan emphasized, “The Indian government should have taken appropriate steps to halt this war. Many Indians are stranded in Gulf countries, yet the government has no plans for them. Inflation continues to rise, but the government is not taking any action.”
