Mumbai, March 26: Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, Iran has claimed to have dealt another significant blow to the United States. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it successfully shot down a US Air Force F-18 fighter jet.
According to the IRGC, the aircraft was targeted by Iranian defense systems as it attempted to intrude into Iranian airspace. The integrated air defense network of Iran reportedly engaged the US “terrorist army” jet, causing severe damage to the aircraft. Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General António Guterres criticized the ongoing conflict in West Asia, stating that the fighting has crossed boundaries that even leaders could not have envisioned. He urged the US and Israel to end hostilities with Iran and called on Iran to cease its attacks on Gulf nations, declaring that the situation has gone too far.
