New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : India Optel Limited (IOL), a government enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has officially announced the opening of applications for 160 positions, including Junior Project Engineer, on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis.
The vacancies include 39 Project Technicians (Fitter Instruments), 43 Project Technicians (Fitter Electronics), 3 Project Technicians (Machinist), 12 Project Technicians (Optical Worker), 1 Project Technician (Electroplater), 3 Welfare Officers, and various Junior Project Engineer roles across multiple disciplines, such as Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Optics and Coating, among others.
The application process commenced on September 12, 2026, and candidates must submit their applications by October 3, 2026, which is the 21st day from the advertisement date published in the Employment News. Interested applicants are encouraged to complete their registration within this timeframe.
Eligibility criteria vary by position. Candidates for Project Technician roles must have completed matriculation and possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by the National Council for Vocational Training. For the Welfare Officer position, a postgraduate degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Resource Management, or Labour Welfare with at least 60% marks is required. Junior Project Engineers must hold a full-time B.Sc. degree or diploma with similar academic criteria. Retired officers from specified branches of the Indian Army are eligible to apply for the Consultant (Coordination) role. Additionally, candidates must have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, depending on the position.
Age limits for applicants range from 18 to 27 years for certain roles and up to 62 years for others, calculated based on the application submission deadline. Relaxations in the upper age limit are available for candidates from reserved categories.
Selection will be based on application screening, shortlisting, interviews, final merit lists, document verification, and medical fitness assessments. Selected candidates can expect a monthly salary between ₹20,000 and ₹1,40,000, along with other benefits and allowances.
