International Shooting Sport Federation Launches B Shotgun Judges Course in New Delhi

The ISSFs B Shotgun Judges Course commenced in New Delhi, aiming to enhance expertise among shooting officials.

New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has launched its ‘B’ Shotgun Judges Course in New Delhi, starting on September 10, 2026. Organized by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), this five-day program will conclude on September 14.

A total of 16 participants from India and Oman are taking part in the course, which aims to improve the knowledge and technical skills of shooting officials in line with ISSF regulations and international standards.

Mohammad Wahdan, Chairman of the ISSF Shotgun Committee from Egypt, is leading the course as the instructor, with Amar Jung Singh from India serving as the assistant instructor.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of key NRAI officials, including President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Dev, Secretary General Pawan Kumar Singh, Secretary Rajiv Bhatia, and High-Performance Manager (Shotgun) Mansher Singh, who welcomed the instructors and participants.

In his address, NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Dev emphasized the association’s commitment to building a robust education program for Indian shooting. He noted that in collaboration with the ISSF, the NRAI has conducted several courses over the last two to three years. The goal is to double the number of coaches, judges, jury members, and officials in shotgun, pistol, and rifle disciplines every few years. With over 100,000 registered shooters and around 20,000 competing at the national level under strict qualification standards, a strong base of technical officials is essential to support this ecosystem.

Secretary General Pawan Kumar Singh highlighted the NRAI’s educational initiatives, mentioning that over 1,500 ISSF and national coaches and judges have been trained in the past four years. This year alone, the NRAI has hosted courses for ISSF rifle judges, ISSF EST, and ISSF referees.

In response to ISSF’s new requirements, coaches on the field must possess an ISSF A or B license. Consequently, the NRAI is conducting the ISSF B course for 44 participants and will also introduce the ISSF A course for the first time in October. All courses are offered free of charge, made possible through the ongoing support of the Sports Authority of India and the Olympic Gold Quest.

This course is part of the NRAI’s continuous efforts to develop qualified technical officials and provide them with opportunities to enhance their knowledge and experience in accordance with international standards.
