
New Delhi, June 18: India’s gross tax collection for the April-June period of the fiscal year 2026-27 has increased by 12.46% year-on-year, reaching ₹6,10,050.53 crore. This figure marks a significant rise from ₹5,42,478.57 crore during the same period last year, as reported by the Income Tax Department on Thursday.
According to data released on the Income Tax website, the gross tax collection of ₹6,10,050.53 crore includes contributions of ₹2,76,538.46 crore from corporate tax, ₹3,14,653.07 crore from non-corporate tax, ₹18,856.12 crore from securities transaction tax, and ₹2.88 crore from other taxes.
During this review period, the government issued refunds totaling ₹89,025.71 crore, slightly up from ₹87,979.39 crore in the same period last year. This includes ₹68,304.99 crore in corporate tax refunds and ₹20,715.51 crore in non-corporate tax refunds.
The net tax collection for the April-June period of 2026-27 stands at ₹5,21,024.82 crore, representing a 14.64% increase compared to ₹4,54,499.18 crore during the same period last year. The contributions include ₹2,08,233.47 crore from corporate tax, ₹2,93,937.56 crore from non-corporate tax, and ₹18,856.12 crore from securities transaction tax.
Additionally, the government has released figures for advance tax collection. For the April-June period of 2026-27, advance tax collection reached ₹1,78,373.06 crore, which is 15.30% higher than the ₹1,54,706.02 crore collected during the same period last year. This includes ₹1,40,752.74 crore from corporate tax, reflecting a 16.01% increase from ₹1,21,333.03 crore in the previous year. Meanwhile, non-corporate tax contributions rose by 12.73% to ₹37,620.32 crore, up from ₹33,372.99 crore.
