India’s Got Talent: Winners from Season 1 to 11 in Focus

Mumbai: Sony Entertainment Television’s popular reality show India’s Got Talent has announced the winner of its 11th season. The all-girls dance group from Kolkata, Amazing Apsara, impressed the audience and judges with their stunning choreography, flexibility, and energy to clinch the trophy. Since its debut in 2009, the show has featured a variety of talents including dance, singing, magic, acrobatics, and comedy.

Based on the global Got Talent format, the show has provided a grand platform for India’s hidden talents. After an exciting competition this season, Amazing Apsara emerged victorious, but they are not the first to win the coveted title. Over the past seasons, numerous talented groups and individuals have made their mark.

During the audition rounds, judges decide which participants advance, while the semi-finals and finals rely on audience voting to determine the winner. The show has completed 11 seasons so far, with different judges and hosts in each.

The first season aired in 2009, hosted by Nikhil Chinapa and Ayushmann Khurrana. Judges included Shekhar Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, and Kiran Kher. The winning team was the Prince Dance Group from Berhampur, Odisha. Their 56-member troupe impressed with a dance based on Vishnu Dashavatar.

The second season in 2010 retained the same hosts and featured judges Sonali Bendre, Kiran Kher, and Sajid Khan. The Meghalaya-based Shillong Chamber Choir, led by Neil Nongkynrih, won hearts with their harmonious singing.

Season three in 2011 was hosted by Mayank Chang and Gautam Rode, with judges Sonali Bendre, Kiran Kher, and the late actor Dharmendra. The Mumbai-based Suresh and Vernon team, known for their hip-hop dance, took the trophy.

In 2012, season four was hosted by Manish Paul and Cyrus Sahukar. Judges included Kiran Kher, Karan Johar, and Malaika Arora (later replaced by Farah Khan). The winners were the salsa duo Sonali Majumdar and Maraju Suman from Kolkata.

Season five aired in 2014 with Bharti Singh as host and judges Malaika Arora, Kiran Kher, and Karan Johar. The Nadayog Academy from Indore, led by Ragini Makkhar, won the title.

The sixth season in 2015 featured hosts Bharti Singh, Nakul Mehta, and Siddharth Shukla, with judges Malaika Arora, Kiran Kher, and Karan Johar. Aerial dancer Manik Paul from Assam was the winner.

Season seven saw Bharti Singh and Siddharth Shukla hosting, and the same judging panel continued. The winner was Suleman, a flute player from Amritsar.

The eighth season in 2018 was hosted by Ritvik Dhanjani and Bharti Singh, with judges Malaika Arora, Kiran Kher, and Karan Johar. Rajasthan’s close-up magician Javed Khan won the trophy.

Season nine in 2022 was hosted by Arjun Bijlani, with judges Kiran Kher, Shilpa Shetty, Badshah, and Manoj Muntashir. The unique duo Divyansh and Manuraj, known for their beatboxing and flute jugalbandi, won the title.

Season ten, also hosted by Arjun Bijlani with the same judges, saw the team from Abujhmad Mallakhamb Academy in Chhattisgarh win with their breathtaking traditional mallakhamb acrobatics.

Season eleven was hosted by Harsh Limbachiya, with judges Malaika Arora, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Shaan. The finale was thrilling, featuring seven finalists showcasing dance, stunts, and acrobatics. Kolkata’s all-girls dance team, Amazing Apsara, emerged as the champions.
