Bangkok, August 8: Indian players delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Junior Open/Pickleball Championship 2026, clinching three medals on Saturday. The three-day continental championship, organized by the Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP), is taking place at Mahidol University in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.
The championship featured many emerging junior pickleball players from across Asia, competing in various age categories. This tournament provided young athletes with a valuable international platform to play against strong competitors, gain essential experience, and represent their country at the continental level.
The medal tally for India began with Stuti and Anjali, who won the gold medal in the Under-18 Girls Doubles. Anjali Pol added a silver medal to India’s count by finishing second in the Under-18 Girls Singles, while Adya and Kirti secured a bronze medal in the Under-12 Girls Doubles.
Commenting on the performance, Arvind Prabhu stated, “The achievements of our young Indian players at the Asian Junior Championship are very encouraging. Winning gold, silver, and bronze medals across different age categories showcases the growing potential and depth of junior pickleball in India. International experience at this level is crucial for the development of these players. Such performances give us significant confidence in the future of Indian pickleball.”
