S. Jaishankar will visit Azerbaijan on October 23 to review bilateral relations and strengthen ties between the two nations.

New Delhi, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is set to embark on an official visit to Azerbaijan on October 23. During this trip, he will engage in discussions with his Azerbaijani counterpart to review the bilateral relations between the two countries.
This visit follows the recent presentation of credentials by India’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Abhay Kumar, to President Ilham Aliyev on October 16. In their meeting, Kumar expressed his commitment to enhancing and strengthening the relationship between India and Azerbaijan.
The Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan stated, “Ambassador Abhay Kumar reiterated his dedication to fortifying and expanding bilateral ties. He assured that efforts would be made to boost cooperation and deepen the historical friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of both nations.”
The embassy also highlighted the centuries-old historical and cultural connections that have developed over thousands of years, providing a robust foundation for bilateral relations today. Both parties acknowledged the significance of these long-standing ties and discussed potential areas for enhanced cooperation.
During the discussions, they referenced the previous conversations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Aliyev in Bishkek. Ambassador Kumar and President Aliyev reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing cooperation between India and Azerbaijan.
A statement from the Indian Embassy emphasized the importance of exploring new avenues for collaboration, building on the existing friendship and goodwill between the two countries.
Last week, Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, also visited Azerbaijan, where he participated in the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
In his address at the plenary session in Baku on October 15, Singh highlighted India’s philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” emphasizing peace, cooperation, friendship, and facing shared challenges. He called upon all member states to unite against cross-border terrorism.
Earlier this year, on September 1, Prime Minister Modi met with President Aliyev during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
