Indian Diaspora in London Defends PM Modi, Criticizes CJP Protesters
Indian expatriates in London rally in support of PM Modi, labeling opposing protesters as confused and questioning their motives.

London, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Members of the Indian diaspora in London gathered on October 17 to show their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while criticizing protesters from the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP). They referred to the CJP as the “Confused People’s Party,” questioning the presence of Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian individuals at the demonstration.
One participant stated, “We are here to support PM Modi and India. If you look at the CJP members, who are being called the ‘Cockroach People’s Party,’ they truly are a ‘Confused People’s Party’ because they don’t even know what they are doing.”
Another attendee pointed out the irrelevance of foreign participants in what they deemed an Indian protest. “There are Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, and even Palestinians here. What do they have to do with this? We chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai,’ but they do not.”
Community members emphasized that Indian politics should remain within the country, where the voters reside. “In my opinion, all Indian politics should stay in India because those who can vote live there. If they dislike this government, they should vote for a party that aligns with their ideology. They should not damage India’s image abroad,” said one member.
Another participant argued that the protests were funded by foreign sources and lacked the courage to engage in democratic processes. “All these activities are driven by foreign funding, and it has been exposed. They don’t have the guts to contest elections and win democratically.”
The rally took place outside the Indian High Commission, where expatriates waved the Indian flag and chanted slogans in favor of PM Modi. Demonstrators expressed their commitment to defending India’s image abroad and opposing protests they believe tarnish the nation’s reputation.
This show of support coincided with protests by the Congress-led India Alliance and the Cockroach People’s Party, who are targeting the Election Commission over alleged irregularities in the electoral voter list review process. Opposition groups have accused the commission of misconduct and are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
