Youth Protests Reflect Discontent, Says SP Legislator Ravidas Mehrotra
SP legislator Ravidas Mehrotra criticizes the BJP government for suppressing youth voices amid rising protests across India.

Lucknow, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Ravidas Mehrotra, a legislator from the Samajwadi Party (SP), has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for its handling of youth protests and issues of social justice. Speaking in Lucknow, he accused the government of resorting to oppression and injustice to silence the voices of young people. Mehrotra highlighted that both millennials and Generation Z are taking to the streets, driven by growing discontent.
He pointed out that the youth in India are actively protesting, and the BJP government is attempting to stifle their voices rather than listen to their concerns. Mehrotra referenced a recent movement led by Generation Z in Nepal, claiming that the anger among Indian youth is even more intense than what was observed there. He emphasized the need to take this discontent seriously.
In his statements, Mehrotra linked the youth protests to a broader dissatisfaction with the government. He alleged that the BJP is trying to suppress youth voices through oppression and injustice. The SP legislator accused the BJP and its allies of misleading the public, contrasting their approach with the SP government’s efforts to secure justice for marginalized communities, including Dalits, backward classes, and minorities. He raised questions about the BJP’s claims and argued that the public is being misled.
