RJD Leader Criticizes Election Commissioner and Central Government
RJD leader Shakti Singh Yadav criticizes Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the central government, claiming they undermine democracy.

Patna, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Shakti Singh Yadav, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has launched a fierce attack against the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, and the central government. Speaking in Patna, he emphasized that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, is fulfilling his responsibilities with a serious approach for the nation’s benefit. In contrast, he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of compromising democracy and colluding with vote thieves.
Yadav asserted, “Rahul Gandhi is a serious leader in the Lok Sabha. He is diligently performing his duties in the interest of the nation. The BJP is playing with democracy and is in cahoots with vote thieves.” He criticized various leaders within the BJP, citing conflicting statements from Rajnath Singh and Reddy. He boldly stated, “The entire central government is on the back foot regarding Gyanesh Kumar.”
He labeled Gyanesh Kumar Gupta, the Chief Election Commissioner, as the biggest vote thief, claiming there is prima facie evidence against him. Yadav pointed out that two election commissioners have raised concerns, indicating that the government is indeed on the defensive. He warned that the nation cannot dismiss the possibility of mid-term elections.
Yadav speculated that the country might head towards mid-term elections as the BJP finds itself in a precarious position. “You are so on the back foot that even if you wanted to, you cannot save Gyanesh Kumar. The country will not allow it,” he stated.
He also praised Rahul Gandhi for providing a new direction to the youth, emphasizing commitment to the nation and policies. He questioned the defense minister’s response to China’s provocations, stating, “What is the defense minister doing? Shouldn’t he be addressing these issues? It’s concerning that we can’t even speak freely within the country.”
Regarding a letter from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Yadav noted that as the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Kharge has a moral obligation to discuss the delimitation process and suggested a multi-party meeting. He highlighted that the opposition is thinking positively, while the ruling party is consumed by arrogance. “The opposition serves as a mirror to the government. If the government becomes blind and fails to reflect on its actions, that’s its choice,” he concluded.
