New Delhi, 17 August (Kiran News). Indian Air Force Group Captain and pilot of NASA’s Axiom-4 space mission, Shubhanshu Shukla, received a warm and grand welcome upon his return to India from the United States early Sunday morning. He was accompanied by Gaganyaan mission backup astronaut Prashant Balakrishnan Nair. Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and a large number of students welcomed Shukla and Nair at Delhi Airport.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh shared on social media, “India’s space pride has touched Indian soil as Bharat Mata’s distinguished son, Gaganyatri Shubhanshu Shukla, arrived in Delhi early this morning.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also expressed her happiness at Shubhanshu Shukla’s return on her social media platform and shared related photographs.
It is believed that Shubhanshu Shukla will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today before leaving for his hometown Lucknow.
Shubhanshu Shukla was part of NASA’s private Axiom-4 space mission, which was launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA on 25 June and docked with the ISS on 26 June. During the 18-day mission, he and his fellow astronauts conducted over 60 experiments and 20 public outreach sessions. Shubhanshu returned to Earth on 15 July.
