
New Delhi, June 5: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India has been awarded the Guinness World Record for the highest number of participants in an online quiz within a week. The record was achieved through the initiative “Mera Yuva Bharat” (MY Bharat), which saw 390,812 participants during the official assessment period.
At a ceremony held at Shram Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi, Guinness World Records adjudicator Mr. Rishinath presented the certificate to MY Bharat. The event was attended by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, along with State Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Nikhil Khdse, Secretary of the Youth Affairs Department Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, senior officials from the ministry, representatives from Guinness World Records, and young participants.
This honor was awarded for the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue Quiz, aimed at increasing awareness and participation among youth regarding the vision for a developed India by 2047. The initiative, conducted through the MY Bharat portal, engaged over 5.42 million youth from all 28 states and 8 Union Territories, making it one of the largest digital youth engagement exercises in the country.
Dr. Mandaviya congratulated MY Bharat and the entire team on this remarkable achievement. He emphasized that the portal fulfills the aspirations of India’s youth, who constitute nearly 65% of the population under the age of 35.
He noted that the trust and confidence of youth in the portal are evident, as it has recorded 21.9 million registrations in just three years, with thousands of new users joining daily. He congratulated the youth of India for the Guinness World Record, stating that this recognition truly belongs to them and reflects their commitment to the journey towards a developed India.
Dr. Mandaviya highlighted that the MY Bharat portal is not just a digital tool but a reliable and empowering platform where youth can meaningfully connect, share their ideas, and contribute to the Prime Minister‘s vision of achieving the goals for a developed India by 2047. This was clearly demonstrated when ideas shared by youth through the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) were incorporated into the Union Budget 2026.
Secretary of the Youth Affairs Department, Pallavi Jain Govil, stated that the MY Bharat portal has become a credible platform for meaningful youth participation across the country. She mentioned that the portal facilitates various forms of engagement through the natural and voluntary participation of youth.
During the official assessment period from October 25 to October 31, 2025, the MY Bharat platform recorded over 839,000 quiz participants. Following a comprehensive verification process, including a digital forensic audit, Guinness World Records certified 390,812 eligible participants, establishing a new world record.
This achievement underscores the Indian government’s commitment to enhancing youth engagement and participation opportunities through digital technologies. It also highlights the growing role of MY Bharat as a national platform for volunteerism, experiential education, leadership development, and community-driven initiatives.
The recognition from Guinness World Records marks a significant milestone in India’s efforts to leverage digital innovation for youth empowerment and civic participation, further advancing the shared vision of a developed India by 2047.
