India Secures 3-0 Victory Over Bangladesh, Boosts AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualification Hopes

Tashkent, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : India triumphed over Bangladesh with a convincing 3-0 scoreline in their final Group B qualifier match held at the Dostlik Stadium in Tashkent on Sunday. This victory significantly bolstered India’s hopes of qualifying for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup in China in 2027.

The match featured impressive performances from Danny Meitei Laisram, Vishal Yadav, and Mohammad Arbash, who each found the back of the net. This win keeps the “Blue Colts” in contention for their first appearance in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup in two decades.

With six points from three matches, India currently sits in second place in Group B. Syria, trailing with three points from two matches, could surpass India, but they face the group leaders, Uzbekistan, in their next game. If Syria loses or draws, India will remain second and secure a spot among the seven best runners-up from eight groups.

Danny opened the scoring for India in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error from Bangladesh. After a brilliant assist from Indian striker Haatim Ali, Danny finished expertly to give India the lead.

Just after the hour mark, Vishal doubled India’s advantage with a spectacular acrobatic goal. Substitute Mohammad Arbash sealed the match with a powerful shot in the 79th minute, making it 3-0 and confirming India’s dominance.

Danny almost added another goal with a free kick that was saved by the Bangladesh goalkeeper. The second half saw India maintain their attacking momentum. A long throw from Rishikant found Vishal, who executed a stunning move to score the second goal.

Despite Bangladesh’s attempts to find a way back into the game, they were unable to break through India’s solid defense. In the 72nd minute, India made substitutions, bringing in Mohammad Arbash and Prashant Jajo for Danny and Vishal.

Arbash made an immediate impact, scoring with a powerful left-footed shot that went into the top corner, solidifying India’s 3-0 lead. India controlled the game from there, completing the necessary steps to strengthen their qualification bid for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
