India Post Launches 24 Speed Post for Guaranteed Next-Day Delivery

Mumbai, March 17: The Department of Posts is set to introduce a new premium express service, 24 Speed Post, on March 17, 2026. This service will guarantee next-day delivery for urgent and time-sensitive shipments. The official unveiling will take place at the Rangbhawan Auditorium at 12:30 PM, as stated in a release from the Ministry of Communications on March 16, 2026.

Initial Rollout Across Six Major Cities

The launch will be spearheaded by Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Communications, along with Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications, and senior officials from the department.

The new service aims to enhance delivery speed and reliability for critical consignments. In its first phase, it will be available in six major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with plans for further expansion.

Assured Delivery Timelines

In conjunction with this initiative, India Post will also roll out 24 and 48 Speed Post services, ensuring delivery timelines of D+1 and D+2, respectively. These services will feature dedicated processing windows and priority air transmission to guarantee timely deliveries.

Enhanced Customer Features

Customers can look forward to several new features, including OTP-based secure delivery, end-to-end tracking with SMS alerts, and a Buy Now Pay Later option for business clients. Additionally, the services will provide free pickup for bulk bookings, API integration, centralized billing for corporate users, and a money-back guarantee for delivery delays.

This initiative is expected to bolster India Post’s premium express delivery network and improve its competitiveness in the rapidly evolving logistics and e-commerce sectors.
