India and US Trade Deal: A New Era of Friendship

New Delhi, February 3: Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states have praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership following a significant trade agreement between India and the United States. The reduction of American tariffs to 18% has been hailed as a historic milestone in the India-US economic partnership.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked that this is a pivotal moment for the India-US economic collaboration. He stated on the social media platform ‘X’, “This will greatly boost ‘Make in India’, allowing Indian products greater access to global markets and creating new opportunities for Indian youth and MSMEs.”

Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his decisive leadership in strengthening India-US relations. He noted, “This milestone reflects the growing global trust in ‘Made in India’ and reinforces India’s position as a key driver of global growth.”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the deal as a significant outcome of Modi’s visionary diplomacy. She stated, “Following Prime Minister Modi’s phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, the US has reduced the extra tariffs on India to 18%. This decision will accelerate Indian exports and trade, further demonstrating India’s rising economic power on the global stage.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the trade agreement historic, emphasizing that it represents a true victory of the friendship between Modi and Trump. He noted that this is a historic opportunity for global trade.

In a post on ‘X’, he wrote, “India now receives preferential tariff rates from the US among leading exporting economies. This marks the beginning of a new era in India-US friendship. The agreement opens exciting possibilities for Indian businesses and will be highly beneficial for both countries.”

Fadnavis added that Maharashtra has always been a leader in exports, and this agreement will unlock new horizons for businesses, attracting investments in data centers, artificial intelligence, and frontier technologies.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed heartfelt appreciation for Modi’s credible and globally respected leadership, which has enhanced India’s influence on the world stage. He stated, “Today marks a significant milestone as ‘Made in India’ products find a place in a larger global marketplace, creating new opportunities for our youth, farmers, and MSMEs.”

Sarma mentioned that the agreement will act as a force multiplier in fostering new avenues of cooperation between the two nations. Under the leadership of Presidents Trump and Modi, the world’s oldest and largest democracies are working more closely to achieve global peace and prosperity.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi referred to this as a historic advancement in India-US economic relations, laying a strong foundation for deeper cooperation and shared prosperity. He noted that reducing tariffs on ‘Made in India’ products to 18% is a significant boost for Indian manufacturing, MSMEs, exporters, and job creation, while also opening wider markets and new pathways for entrepreneurs and startups.

Majhi congratulated and thanked Prime Minister Modi for strengthening India-US relations and enhancing India’s global economic presence.
