India A Posts 265 Runs Against Sri Lanka A in Tri-Series Match

Dambulla, June 15: In the fourth match of the Tri-Series, India A faced Sri Lanka A on Monday. Batting first at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, India A was all out for 265 runs in 49.2 overs. Sunyash Shedge and Vipraj Nigam both contributed with half-centuries.

After losing the toss, India A had a shaky start. Vaibhav Suryaanshi scored 21 runs off 14 balls before returning to the pavilion. Prabhsimran Singh also struggled, making just 11 runs. Following the loss of two wickets for 39 runs, captain Tilak Varma and Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied the innings, adding 52 runs for the third wicket off 54 balls.

Tilak was dismissed for 23 runs after facing 32 balls, while Ruturaj could only manage 37 runs. Ayush Badoni had a quiet outing, scoring just 15 runs off 35 balls. Nishant Sindhu contributed 6 runs before being dismissed, and Anukul Roy managed only 8 runs from 27 balls.

At 143 runs, with 7 wickets down, India A looked in trouble. However, Sunyash Shedge and Vipraj Nigam rescued the innings, forming a crucial partnership of 104 runs for the eighth wicket off 90 balls. Vipraj scored 51 runs from 49 balls, hitting 6 fours, before getting out. Sunyash was the last Indian batsman to be dismissed, scoring 72 runs off 66 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Yash Thakur remained not out with 2 runs.

On the bowling front, Sri Lanka’s Mohammad Siraj was impressive, taking 3 wickets for 33 runs in 7.2 overs. Vijaykant Vyasakant also shone with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for just 26 runs in his 10-over spell, while captain Sahan Arachchige picked up one wicket.
