Inauguration of the 7th Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament 2026

Bengaluru, June 23: In honor of Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh DFC’s 107th birth anniversary, the Air Force Sports Control Board is hosting the 7th edition of the Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament from June 23 to July 3, 2026, at the Air Force Station Jalahalli. A total of 16 teams will participate in this tournament.

The opening ceremony took place on June 23, 2026, at the hockey field of Air Force Station Jalahalli. The chief guest, Air Marshal S. Shivkumar, VSM, Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA), officially declared the tournament open.

The inaugural match was played between the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army, Southern Command, Bengaluru teams. The Indian Air Force won the match 2-0, with Agniveer Vinayak Santosh Hande being named Man of the Match. The chief guest presented a check of ₹25,000 to the Man of the Match. Various cultural programs were also showcased during the tournament’s opening.

Speaking at the event, the chief guest expressed his delight in returning to the Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament, which he described as the country’s most prestigious tournament. He emphasized that this event would provide a platform for the best hockey teams in the nation. The Indian Air Force is committed to ensuring the smooth operation of the tournament.

This hockey tournament serves as a fitting tribute to the Air Force veteran and is a commendable way to express gratitude for his contributions to the nation.
