Imtiaz Ali’s New Love Story Film to Release on June 12

Mumbai: Renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, known for hits like Jab We Met and Rockstar, is set to bring a new love story to the big screen. The makers have announced the release date of this untitled film, which will hit theatres on 12 June this year.

Produced under the banners of Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films, the film is currently in the final stages of post-production. Imtiaz Ali has both written and directed the project, with Mohit Choudhary also coming on board as a producer alongside the two production houses.

The film marks the reunion of Imtiaz Ali’s successful creative team, including music composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil. The trio has previously collaborated on acclaimed films such as Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha, and Jab We Met.

The upcoming film features singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, actress Sharvari, and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in significant roles. The story explores the depths of relationships, the power of love, and the pain of separation.

According to the makers, this is not just a simple love story between a boy and a girl but also portrays the emotions of the nation on a wider canvas.

Summing up the film’s theme, Imtiaz Ali said, “You are with me when no one else is. Momin… does love really disappear? Can someone’s heart be taken away? This film has a very big heart and an expansive canvas, but the story remains deeply personal. It is the story of a boy and a girl, and also of a nation.”

Diljit Dosanjh, who previously worked with Imtiaz Ali in Amar Singh Chamkila, returns for this project. For Vedang Raina and Sharvari, the film represents a major career opportunity, while Naseeruddin Shah’s presence adds further strength to the cast.

Set to release on 12 June, the film delves into themes of love, separation, and identity, promising to offer audiences a profound cinematic experience.
