Huawei Pura X2 Set to Feature 7.5-Inch Screen, Camera and Memory Specs Revealed

Huawei appears to be gearing up to revisit one of its more unique foldable concepts.

In March 2025, Huawei introduced the Pura X, which was the first foldable phone in the industry to adopt a “wide fold” design. Unlike the typical tall and narrow appearance of most foldables, the Pura X unfolded into a broader 16:10 display, resembling a small tablet.

Now, a recent leak from a tipster on Weibo suggests that Huawei is working on a successor called the Huawei Pura X2.

According to the leaked information, the Pura X2 is not expected to significantly alter the overall design of its predecessor. The body proportions are likely to remain similar, but one key enhancement could be in the size of the external display.

The outer screen is said to be considerably larger than the previous model, which may facilitate easier interactions without the need to unfold the device.

On the back, Huawei is reportedly redesigning the camera setup. The Pura X2 is expected to feature a horizontal rear camera module that may include three or even four cameras, with a standout upgrade being a 200MP sensor for the rear camera.

Expected Specifications of Huawei Pura X2

Internally, the Pura X2 will utilize Huawei’s self-developed Kirin processor. The tipster has mentioned three potential names: Kirin 9020, 9030, and 9030 Pro, suggesting that the X2 might launch with one of these chips or in multiple variants.

When fully opened, the inner display will retain the original 16:10 aspect ratio, but the screen size is anticipated to increase to 7.5 inches. Furthermore, the hinge is expected to incorporate technology from the Huawei Mate X7, indicating enhancements in durability and smoothness.

Huawei is reportedly planning to provide a variety of memory and storage configurations for the Pura X2, starting from 12GB of RAM and potentially reaching up to an impressive 20GB. Storage options may also peak at 1TB. The device is expected to run on HarmonyOS 6.1.

For context, the original Pura X features a 6.3-inch inner display, a 3.5-inch square outer screen, a triple-camera arrangement, a 4720mAh battery, and supports both fast wired and wireless charging, with a starting price of 7,499 yuan (approximately $1,080).
