HPV Vaccination Campaign for Girls Launched in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, March 17: A significant HPV vaccination campaign is underway in Madhya Pradesh to protect girls from cervical cancer. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister, Rajendra Shukla, announced that over 100,000 adolescent girls have already received the vaccine.

Shukla congratulated the health department team, district administration, and partner organizations for this achievement, emphasizing that it marks a crucial step in safeguarding the daughters of the state from cervical cancer.

He noted that Prime Minister Modi launched this national HPV vaccination initiative on February 28 from Ajmer, Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the leading state in the country for HPV vaccinations, with over 100,000 girls vaccinated under this campaign.

Shukla highlighted the significant contributions from the districts of Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, Rajgarh, and Khargone in achieving this milestone. Coordination at the district level has been established under the leadership of collectors, with vital support from various departments, including school education, women and child development, and several voluntary organizations.

He urged parents to ensure their 14-year-old daughters receive the HPV vaccination to protect them from serious illnesses like cervical cancer.

Shukla expressed confidence that the state’s health department is fully committed to ensuring a safe and healthy future for girls and that the vaccination of remaining eligible girls will be completed soon.

Additionally, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla conducted a surprise inspection at the Super Specialty Hospital in Rewa, where he interacted with admitted patients to inquire about their well-being. He gathered information on the available health services, medical arrangements, and treatment quality, instructing officials to provide better and timely care to patients.
