New Delhi, June 14: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is now regarded as one of the most talented actresses in the industry. Throughout her career, she has portrayed numerous memorable characters. One of the standout roles was in the film ‘Fashion,’ where she played Sonali Gujral, a successful model whose life spirals out of control due to addiction. Her performance received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics. Recently, an interview featuring her has gone viral.
In a candid conversation on Anupam Kher’s show, ‘The Anupam Kher Show – Anything Can Happen,’ Kangana reflected on the challenging phases of her career. She shared, “After films like ‘Gangster’ and ‘Wo Lamhe,’ my career wasn’t progressing as I had hoped. I felt like it was gradually declining, and I needed a significant opportunity to prove myself.”
Kangana emphasized that ‘Fashion’ was a pivotal moment for her, but she was apprehensive about not delivering a strong performance. “If I didn’t succeed in this film, the path ahead could become even more challenging. I left no stone unturned in preparing for my character and worked diligently to embody the role,” she explained.
She revealed, “I practiced walking in high heels at home to understand a model’s demeanor better. Additionally, I rehearsed smoking for the role, researched addiction, and even met individuals who had struggled with cocaine addiction.”
Kangana admitted, “I constantly reminded myself that this could be my last big opportunity. This thought motivated me to work tirelessly. I approached this character with dedication and honesty, and the results were remarkable.”
Following the film’s release, Kangana’s performance sparked widespread discussion. From audiences to film critics, everyone praised her work. She was even awarded the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role.
In ‘Fashion,’ she starred alongside lead actress Priyanka Chopra, who also received accolades for her performance and won the Best Actress award.
