Tel Aviv, March 28: Houthi rebels from Yemen have claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Israel. They stated that the attack was a response to assaults on infrastructure and civilian casualties in Lebanon, Iran, and Palestine. Additionally, a group named Islamic Resistance in Iraq has targeted several military bases in Jordan.
This incident marks the first attack during the ongoing conflict that has persisted for a month. The group announced that they launched a barrage of ballistic missiles aimed at Israeli military installations located in the southern West Bank.
In their statement, the Houthis emphasized that the attack was a direct retaliation for the assaults on infrastructure and the loss of civilian lives in Lebanon, Iran, and Palestine. They further declared that their campaign would continue until their objectives are achieved and all attacks linked to resistance cease.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the missile fired from Yemen was successfully intercepted by air defense systems. The IDF confirmed that one missile launched from Yemen was brought down effectively.
On the other hand, media outlets connected to Iraqi militias reported that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted multiple military bases and an airport in Jordan.
Reported locations of the claimed attacks include King Faisal Air Base, King Abdullah Air Base, Queen Alia Airport, Prince Hassan Air Base, and Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. However, detailed information regarding the damage caused by these strikes has not yet been disclosed.
