
Auckland, June 16: Hockey India extended its congratulations to midfielder Jyoti on reaching the milestone of 100 international matches during India’s game against Japan at the FIH Women’s Hockey Nations Cup in New Zealand on Tuesday.
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey expressed, “Hockey India congratulates Jyoti on this remarkable achievement of completing 100 international matches. This milestone is a testament to her dedication, consistency, and years of hard work. She has been a vital member of the Indian women’s hockey team, always demonstrating tremendous commitment whenever she represented the country. General Secretary of Hockey India, Bhola Nath Singh, also congratulated Jyoti on her achievement, stating, “Completing 100 international matches is a significant accomplishment. It reflects Jyoti’s passion and commitment to the sport. Over the years, she has proven herself as a reliable player and has made substantial contributions to the growth and success of the Indian women’s hockey team. Upon achieving this significant milestone, Jyoti shared, “Representing India has always been the greatest honor of my life. Jyoti, hailing from Haryana, made her international debut in 2019 during a bilateral series against Malaysia. As a midfielder, she has been a crucial player for India.
Throughout her career, Jyoti has participated in several prestigious tournaments. She was part of the team that won a bronze medal at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and helped secure gold medals at the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy in Ranchi and Rajgir. Additionally, she has competed in the FIH Hockey Pro League, the Asia Cup campaign, and other significant international events.
