Historic Dawn for Bengal as BJP Takes Charge with Modis Presence

Kolkata, May 9: West Bengal is set to witness a historic moment as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares to form its government for the first time. The oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Saturday morning is expected to mark a significant chapter in the state’s political landscape. Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the BJP legislative party and the next Chief Minister, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence at the event will signify a ‘historic dawn’ for Bengal.

Adhikari emphasized that this ceremony symbolizes the end of the Trinamool Congress’s 15-year rule and the beginning of a new era characterized by development, peace, and prosperity. He noted that with the BJP in power at both the center and the state, Bengal is poised for ‘double-engine’ growth, bringing the dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’ to fruition.

In a message shared on social media, Suvendu Adhikari described this moment as one of pride and excitement for West Bengal. Welcoming Prime Minister Modi to the ‘City of Joy’ is a moment of immense pride and joy for the party. This marks the first time since independence that a BJP government is being formed in Bengal, fulfilling the aspirations of its founding leaders. He remarked that this signifies the end of decades of alleged misgovernance and the dawn of a new era of development, peace, and prosperity.

The oath-taking ceremony will take place at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, where former West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose will administer the oath to the new cabinet. The event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, members of the central cabinet, and numerous senior party leaders.

During the ceremony, it will also be revealed who will join Suvendu Adhikari in the new cabinet. The new government will operate from the historic Writers’ Building in Kolkata, while former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee worked from the Nabanna Secretariat in Howrah.

Suvendu Adhikari has already made it clear that his government will operate on the basis of ‘collective leadership.’ He stated that the state will be governed not by ‘I’ but by ‘we’ together. Additionally, better coordination between the center and the state will be prioritized to accelerate Bengal’s development.
