Tehran, February 24: A helicopter from the Iranian Army’s aviation unit crashed in central Iran, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. This tragic incident was reported by state media.

The helicopter went down in Isfahan province. According to the Tasnim news agency, the aircraft crashed on Tuesday morning in a fruit and vegetable market located in Khomenei Shahr County. The victims include the pilot, co-pilot, and two vendors.

The Director General of Crisis Management in Isfahan province informed IRNA that rescue teams, firefighters, and emergency medical services were promptly dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire.

This incident occurred amid heightened tensions, with the Iranian military on high alert due to threats of attack from the United States. President Donald Trump has previously threatened limited strikes. Recent flight tracking data has revealed a continuous flow of aircraft transporting security personnel, ammunition, and equipment from the U.S. to the Middle East.

Iran, struggling under sanctions, has faced numerous aviation accidents in recent years. Officials have reported difficulties in obtaining spare parts for their aging aircraft.

According to IRNA, Iran’s state broadcaster reported that on Thursday, a fighter jet crashed during a training exercise in western Hamadan province, resulting in the death of one of the two pilots on board, while the other managed to escape.
