Ranchi, 16 August – The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of southern Jharkhand on 19th August. This alert was issued on Saturday.

According to the department, southern districts may witness thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds at a speed of 30-40 km per hour and lightning. The department has issued a yellow alert regarding this possibility.
In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall in the state was recorded at Maheshpur in Pakur district with 20.4 mm. Ranchi received 13 mm of rainfall during this period.
The state recorded the highest temperature at 33.5°C and the lowest at 21.1°C in Latehar.
On Saturday, Ranchi and its surrounding areas remained cloudy, with occasional sunshine. The maximum temperature in Ranchi was 30°C, in Jamshedpur 32.6°C, in Daltonganj 31.9°C, in Bokaro 32.1°C, and in Chaibasa 30.8°C.
