Hajipur, June 15: A significant influx of passengers was observed at Hajipur Railway Station in Bihar, where many were seen traveling on train doors and footboards. The crowd was so overwhelming that there was hardly any space for passengers to stand inside the trains. This situation led to widespread frustration regarding the railway services and facilities.
Dasrath Mandal, a passenger heading to Ambala, expressed his difficulties, stating that he could not find a seat on the train and was forced to travel while sitting on the gate. He said, “We are traveling like this because we couldn’t get a seat. We are going to Ambala. We are laborers, and we have no choice but to travel this way. We work for a farmer in Ambala.”
Like Mandal, many workers and professionals are seeking better job opportunities in other states, but the excessive crowding in trains makes their journeys perilous.
Another passenger, Mohammad Amtaab, raised concerns about the railway system, saying, “The crowd is enormous, yet the government seems oblivious to this issue. There’s no room even to stand inside the train. There are no facilities for passengers.”
Additionally, another traveler highlighted that the number of passengers and the crowd can be assessed right from the station where the train departs. He urged the government and railway authorities to take this issue seriously.
Passengers at Hajipur Railway Station are calling for the arrangement of extra coaches or special trains to ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience for everyone.
