New Delhi, August 22: The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2026 on August 30 across various exam centers nationwide. However, a rumor has been circulating that the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) wellness centers will be closed from August 27 to 31 due to the deployment of medical officers for NEET-PG duties.
On Saturday, the Health Ministry clarified that this claim regarding the closure of CGHS wellness centers is completely false and unauthorized.
The ministry confirmed that all CGHS wellness centers will operate according to their regular hours. They advised beneficiaries to rely solely on information provided through official CGHS channels and to disregard such rumors.
For reference, NBEMS is expected to release the NEET-PG admit cards on August 24 via its official website. The examination will take place on August 30 in a single shift, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, featuring a total of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a maximum of 720 marks.
Candidates will earn 4 points for each correct answer, while there will be a negative marking of 1 point for each incorrect answer.
The registration process for NEET-PG 2026 was initiated on July 1, with the deadline for completion set for July 21. Candidates who successfully registered were issued their city intimation slips on August 11.
