Ajay Devgn Reflects on the Importance of Parents in Emotional Interview

Ajay Devgn shares insights on parenting and loss in a heartfelt conversation during Bear Grylls adventure show.

Mumbai, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn opened up about his relationship with his late father, renowned action director Veeru Devgn, during his appearance on the 2021 adventure reality show “Into the Wild with Bear Grylls.” The conversation took a poignant turn as Ajay discussed how children’s perspectives on their parents evolve over time.

He noted that as children grow up, especially after becoming parents themselves, they begin to appreciate the sacrifices their parents made for them. Reflecting on his own experience, Ajay acknowledged that losing a parent is incredibly challenging. “You often don’t realize their contributions until you’re much older,” he shared.

During the show, Bear Grylls asked Ajay about the loss of his father, to which Ajay responded, “Yes, I lost him two years ago.” Grylls empathized, stating that the past two years must have been difficult for him.

Ajay elaborated on the complexities of understanding parental love. “Losing your parents is tough because, by the time you reach your twenties, you often think they don’t know anything,” he explained. “You feel like you have all the answers.” However, the realization of a parent’s unconditional love often dawns upon individuals once they have children of their own.

The conversation also touched on Veeru Devgn’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Ajay revealed that his father had suffered from the condition, which was compounded by injuries sustained during stunts. He recounted a specific incident during a shoot where his father was injured while performing a stunt involving a car.

Ajay highlighted the dangers of filmmaking in earlier times, noting that real cars and ordinary glass were frequently used, which increased the risk of injury. “Back then, we used real glass. Now we use toughened glass, which can still cause injuries, but it’s much safer than before,” he said.

Through this heartfelt dialogue, Ajay Devgn not only shared memories of his father but also provided insight into the profound lessons that come with parenting and loss.
