Gujarat BJP Condemns Congress Leaders Remarks on PM Modis Father
Gujarat BJP leaders criticize Congress chief Kharges comments about PM Modis father, calling them disrespectful and a sign of political desperation.

Gandhinagar, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi and state BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, condemned remarks made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s father during a public event in Patna. This reaction came during a ceremony marking the 139th birth anniversary of Bihar’s first Chief Minister, Krishna Singh.
While addressing the audience, Kharge reportedly responded to a comment from the crowd suggesting that PM Modi would not resign. His ensuing remarks about Modi’s father were deemed offensive. In a post on social media platform X, Chief Minister Patel labeled Kharge’s comments as “extremely unfortunate and highly condemnable,” asserting that such language directed at an elected Prime Minister exemplifies the lowest level of political discourse.
Patel further stated that the Congress party has repeatedly shown it resorts to personal insults when it fails to compete with PM Modi on policy or development issues. He characterized the incident not as a mere slip of the tongue but as part of a recurring pattern of desperation. “The Prime Minister represents the mandate and pride of 1.4 billion Indians, and insulting him out of arrogance is an insult to the people of the country,” Patel remarked.
He emphasized that while political differences are natural in public life, the dignity of discourse should never be compromised. “People are witnessing a decline in political decorum, and they will respond accordingly,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Sanghvi joined the criticism, claiming that Kharge’s comments reflect the Congress party’s deteriorating political culture and hollow mindset. In a post on X, he noted that this is not the first instance of Congress undermining political decorum through its language and behavior. He also accused Rahul Gandhi’s leadership of shifting Congress’s focus from public interest issues to personal insults and inappropriate statements.
State BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma stated that the language used by Kharge regarding the Prime Minister’s family exposes the Congress party’s political desperation.
