Haryana Issues 480,000 E-Challans for Overspeeding in 2025, Says CM Saini

Chandigarh, March 28: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that in 2025, a total of 480,000 e-challans were issued for overspeeding on National Highway-44. This enforcement took place along the highway segment from Kundli in Sonipat to Shambhu in Ambala.

The Chief Minister stated that 128 advanced cameras have been installed on this highway, enabling immediate action against traffic violations.

He shared this information during the inauguration of a two-day national seminar on ‘Road Safety Solutions’ held in Chandigarh. The seminar is organized by the Indian Roads Congress in collaboration with the Public Works Department.

Saini also mentioned the launch of the Sanjay app, developed with the assistance of IIT Madras. This app aids in the management and analysis of road accident data, contributing to efforts aimed at reducing accidents.

To prevent accidents, the government is focusing on identifying and improving black spots, modernizing traffic management systems, conducting awareness campaigns, and adopting new technologies.

Over 350 experts, engineers, researchers, policymakers, and academics are participating in the seminar to discuss various road safety issues.

CM Saini emphasized, “The road is not just a structure; it is the lifeline of development. It connects villages to cities, farmers to markets, and youth to opportunities. However, road accidents pose a serious concern for society.”

He described road safety as not only a technical issue but also a social and moral responsibility. Each year, a significant number of people fall victim to road accidents, causing irreparable damage to families and communities.

Saini urged the public to adhere to traffic rules, emphasizing that simple actions like wearing helmets, fastening seat belts, and obeying speed limits can save many lives. He also stressed the importance of raising awareness about road safety among students, youth, and all segments of society.
