Chandigarh, May 7: In a significant move towards administrative and legal reforms, the Haryana Advocate General’s Office has transitioned to a fully digital format.
Under the leadership of Advocate General Praveen Singh Chauhan, Haryana has become the first state in India where all legal operations are conducted through a complete digital system. The state government has announced that this achievement sets a new benchmark not just for Haryana, but for the entire nation.
On Thursday, the Advocate General officially launched the ‘Pro-Case Management System,’ marking the beginning of a new era in digital legal administration.
The journey of digital transformation began nearly six months ago when Advocate General Chauhan appointed Senior Deputy Advocate General Arun Tevatia as the Chairman for Information Technology and IT Security Nodal Officer. He was tasked with converting all manual processes in the office into digital workflows. Subsequently, work commenced in mission mode to modernize the office’s traditional operations into a contemporary digital system.
The Advocate General stated that this dream has now been fully realized. The backbone of this digital ecosystem is the ‘Pro-Case Management System,’ which is an advanced extension of the ‘Litigation Management System.’
Through this platform, inquiries, legal opinions, case-related correspondence, and litigation management between the Advocate General’s Office and government departments are now conducted entirely digitally. This has significantly expedited workflows and reduced unnecessary delays.
He noted that all case-related documents, including paper books, responses, written statements, and previous court orders, are now securely available in Portable Document Format (PDF). This has nearly eliminated reliance on paper files while improving transparency, efficiency, and accessibility.
The Senior Deputy Advocate General mentioned that through the electronic roster, legal officials will receive paper books, responses, and final court orders directly in their accounts instantly.
Electronic decisions will provide immediate access to court rulings and orders, while electronic inquiries will streamline legal investigations and reviews. Departments will receive legal advice more swiftly through electronic opinions.
