Gujarats Chief Minister Distributes 40 Electric Cars to ITI Centers for Youth Training

Gandhinagar, March 12: In a significant initiative, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated 50 Dhanvantari Arogya Raths and six mobile medical vans for primary healthcare treatment at home for construction and organized sector workers in Gandhinagar.

Over 8,000 young trainees in the Motor Mechanic trade at the state’s Industrial Training Institutions (ITIs) will now receive training in innovative technologies related to electric vehicles.

During the event, Chief Minister Patel, alongside Labour Skill Development Minister Kunwarjibhai Bawaliya, distributed 40 electric cars to various ITIs across different districts.

Recognizing the growing trend of electric vehicles and the substantial job opportunities in this sector, the Labour Skill Development and Employment Department, under Chief Minister Patel’s guidance, has begun equipping government industrial training institutions with modern technology.

The demand for experts in battery technology, electric powertrains, and embedded software is rising within the automotive industry, particularly in the electric vehicle sector.

To ensure a skilled workforce for the industry, the state government aims to provide the latest technology training to trainees by making 40 syllabus-based electric cars available in the automotive sector.

These 40 electric cars will facilitate practical training, enabling trainees at government industrial training institutions to become proficient in electric vehicles and related professions, fostering self-reliance.

In addition to the electric cars, Chief Minister Patel also launched 50 Dhanvantari Arogya Raths and six mobile medical vans.

These Dhanvantari Arogya Raths will provide primary medical treatment for common ailments such as fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and skin diseases, as well as treat primary injuries. They will also conduct lab tests for urine, blood, blood sugar, and malaria.

Moreover, primary care for children and pregnant women will be offered on-site, along with free medications as needed.

The Gujarat Housing and Other Construction Labour Welfare Board operates 154 Dhanvantari Arogya Raths across all districts in the state, while the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board provides services with 25 mobile medical vans.

With the introduction of 54 new Dhanvantari Arogya Raths and six mobile medical vans, a total of 206 Dhanvantari Arogya Raths and 31 mobile medical vans are now operational across 34 districts, aimed at ensuring the health and safety of workers.
