Ahmedabad, June 22: The NEET UG re-examination in Gujarat concluded on Sunday, eliciting mixed responses from candidates regarding the question paper, particularly in Physics and Chemistry. Many also praised the improved arrangements at examination centers.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG), a nationwide entrance exam for undergraduate medical and allied health science courses in India. This exam is administered in a pen-and-paper format and includes subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The examination is held in a single shift across the country, adhering to strict regulations. It includes rigorous entry protocols, biometric verification, searches, and monitoring systems to maintain fairness and prevent any irregularities.
In response to concerns raised during the previous examination, the re-test was conducted under heightened security. Officials implemented better monitoring and logistical arrangements across all states, including Gujarat.
According to updates from officials and state-level coordination, the Gujarat police and district administration had already reviewed preparations to ensure smooth operations. These preparations included secure transportation of question papers, monitoring at centers, and traffic management around examination venues.
After the exam, candidates across the state shared their experiences regarding the difficulty level of the papers and the arrangements at the centers.
In Rajkot, candidates reported that the Biology paper was relatively easier, while Physics and Chemistry posed more challenges. One candidate noted, “Biology was easy. The paper was a bit tough, especially in Physics and Chemistry. The arrangements were excellent, with water provided regularly, almost every hour. It was a good setup.”
In Ahmedabad, candidates described the paper as somewhat difficult but manageable with adequate preparation. One candidate remarked, “This paper was better than last time. We revised the syllabus more thoroughly this time. It was slightly harder than before, but not overwhelmingly so.”
Students in Surat found the exam more challenging compared to the previous one. A student commented, “The paper was okay, but the second attempt was significantly tougher than the first.”
All examination centers completed the tests within the scheduled time. Candidates adhered to the NTA’s schedule and re-test cycle rules, finishing the papers within the designated timeframe.
The NEET UG examination remains one of the largest competitive entrance exams in the country, with millions of candidates participating each year for admission to medical and related courses. Uniform standards are maintained across all examination centers.
