Gandhinagar, March 18: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will visit Jamnagar district on March 19, Thursday. During his visit, he will engage with farmers and announce significant development initiatives for the city and district.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to arrive at Jamnagar Airport at 10 AM. Following this, he will address farmers at the Hapa APMC. An air-conditioned canteen, built at a cost of ₹8.5 million, will be inaugurated here, providing farmers with nutritious meals for just ₹35. Additionally, a guest house worth ₹6.5 million will also be inaugurated.
Later, at a program held at the Town Hall, the Chief Minister will e-launch and lay the foundation for 57 development projects, with a total investment of ₹4.1261 billion (₹41,261 million). This includes the inauguration of 28 projects (₹1.5300 billion) and the foundation laying of 29 projects (₹2.5961 billion). These initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure, education, health, environment, and housing in both urban and rural areas of Jamnagar.
Among the key projects is an Oxygen Park, which will be theme-based and constructed at a cost of ₹14.485 million in the Ambavijay Society (near V-Mart). Jamshahib Shatrushalya Singh has donated 16,066 square meters of land for this park, which will feature over 100 trees and a walking track themed around ‘Yogic Chakras.’
The park will showcase the seven yogic chakras through colors and will plant C-4 category trees that absorb more CO2 and release oxygen. Facilities such as a compound wall, LED lighting, parking, drinking water, benches, rainwater harvesting, and drip irrigation will be included. This will improve air quality, enhance biodiversity, and promote yoga awareness.
The projects also include a new ITI building in Gulabnagar, costing ₹98.1 million. Currently, there are 123 trainees enrolled in four trades with a capacity of 264 seats. The new facility will feature nine classrooms, 14 workshops, an AV room, placement counseling, an IT lab, a library, and a canteen. New trades like electrician, welder, and solar technician will be introduced, providing training and employment to over 350 youths. Additionally, under housing reconstruction, 372 dilapidated homes in Sadhana Colony will be rebuilt at a cost of ₹42.5574 million.
These projects will play a crucial role in making Jamnagar modern, clean, and self-reliant.
