Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Highlights Global Talent in San Francisco

San Francisco, August 18: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is currently on a week-long visit to the United States and Canada. On Monday, during an address in San Francisco, he emphasized the significant role that Gujarati professionals and entrepreneurs residing in Silicon Valley can play in Gujarat’s burgeoning technology ecosystem.

Speaking to the Gujarati community in San Francisco, Patel praised their contributions in the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and innovation. He expressed the state government‘s intent to strengthen ties between global Gujarati talent and Gujarat’s companies and industries.

Patel stated, “The contributions of Gujaratis, especially in Silicon Valley, in emerging fields like semiconductors and AI technology are commendable. Connecting such talent with Gujarat’s industries will create opportunities for knowledge exchange, technical collaboration, and mentorship.”

This address marked the first event of Patel’s trip, during which he is leading a high-level delegation to the U.S. and Canada. The aim is to invite investors and industries to participate in the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2027’ and explore investment opportunities in the state.

Patel informed the gathering that Gujarat has emerged as the engine of the country’s development. The state is working towards its own development vision, ‘Developed Gujarat-2047’, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Developed India-2047’.

He added, “Gujarat aims to become a global hub for new-age sectors such as semiconductors, AI, data centers, and biotechnology.”

The Chief Minister also invited members of the Gujarati community and leaders from the industry and business sectors in the San Francisco area to participate in the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027’.

The meeting included a Q&A session where community members sought information about Gujarat’s development and emerging opportunities in various sectors.

Patel emphasized that the government seeks to leverage the global expertise of Gujaratis to strengthen the state’s innovation ecosystem. Gujarat is positioning itself as a key center for semiconductor and technology investment.

During the discussion, Patel spoke about the cultural connections maintained by Gujarati families living thousands of kilometers away from their home state. He noted that the continuous observance of the Gujarati language, festivals, ceremonies, and values reflects their bond with Gujarat.

The primary objective of Patel’s visit is to engage with investors, industry associations, and leaders in emerging technology sectors, as well as to connect with the Gujarati community. Before heading to Canada, the delegation will hold meetings and discussions in the U.S., with a particular focus on the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2027’.
