Governor Mangubhai Patel Inaugurates Renovated Lok Bhavan Temple in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Governor Mangubhai Patel officially inaugurated the renovated Lok Bhavan temple with great devotion and traditional rituals. The sacred event took place on Sunday amid prayers, chanting, and worship, reflecting deep spiritual reverence. The ceremony was also attended by Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh.

On arrival at the temple premises, Governor Patel received a warm welcome according to ancient rituals. He entered the temple carrying the kalash (holy pot) and performed the ceremonial worship of the kalash and flag following the prescribed customs. Paying homage at the feet of the deity, he offered prayers for the development and prosperity of the state.

In a devotional atmosphere enriched by Vedic chants, the Governor lit a lamp before the sacred idol of Goddess Saraswati with heartfelt reverence, praying for the well-being of all citizens. He then accepted prasad and received blessings.

Governor Patel reviewed the renovation and strengthening works carried out at the temple. He described these efforts as significant steps towards preserving faith, tradition, and cultural heritage.

Officials informed the Governor that the comprehensive development project aimed to make the temple complex safer, more organized, and convenient for devotees. The entire renovation was completed at a cost of ₹84,13,100.

The works included civil construction valued at approximately ₹76,96,000 and electrical installations costing around ₹7,16,000. The temple complex now features a spacious hall covering nearly 2,700 square feet, a dining hall and food distribution area spanning 1,120 square feet for devotees, and a well-equipped kitchen covering 560 square feet.

Also present at the event were Governor’s Additional Secretary Umashankar Bhargava, Chief Engineer of Public Works Sanjay Maske, Superintending Engineer Hari Shankar Jaiswal, Household Controller Divakar, representatives from the civil and electrical departments of the Public Works Department, construction agency officials, and other Lok Bhavan staff.
