Gold Prices Surge Over ₹1,200 This Week, Silver Crosses ₹2.21 Lakh

New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : Gold prices experienced a significant increase this week, rising by more than ₹1,200 per 10 grams. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold climbed to ₹149,430 per 10 grams, up from ₹148,138.

The cost of 22-carat gold also saw a rise, reaching ₹136,878 per 10 grams, compared to ₹135,694 previously. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold prices increased to ₹112,073 per 10 grams, up from ₹111,104.

The lowest price for gold this week was recorded on October 9, when it hit ₹149,614 per 10 grams. The highest price was noted on October 6, reaching ₹147,278 per 10 grams.

Silver prices also saw a notable rise, increasing by ₹280 to reach ₹221,109 per kilogram, up from ₹220,829. The highest silver price this week was recorded at ₹224,157 per kilogram on the evening of October 5, while the lowest was ₹220,866 on the evening of October 7.

IBJA releases gold and silver prices twice daily, in the morning and evening sessions.

On the international front, gold is priced at approximately $4,200 per ounce, while silver is around $60 per ounce. Experts indicate that gold and silver prices remained within a limited range this week due to bond yields consistently above 5% and crude oil prices exceeding $100 per barrel. A strong dollar is also putting pressure on these precious metals.
