Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Reunite Owners with 108 Lost Smartphones Worth ₹25 Lakh

Noida, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police achieved a significant milestone in their ongoing campaign to recover lost mobile phones. On October 19, they returned 108 valuable smartphones to their rightful owners, with an estimated total worth of ₹25 lakh.

The faces of individuals receiving their long-lost devices lit up with joy. Many expressed gratitude towards the police for their effective efforts in recovering the phones.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, with DCP Noida Saad Miah Khan overseeing the process, and ADC Noida Abhay Kumar Mishra leading the initiative. The recovery was part of the Mission Shakti 6.0 and Mission Sahyog campaigns, where the Noida Surveillance Cell collaborated with police teams from various local stations, including Sector 58.

Using technical analysis and assistance from the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, the police successfully traced the lost devices. Most of the recovered smartphones were reported missing from crowded places, weekly markets, and public transportation. Some were lost while riding two-wheelers or during morning and evening walks.

Additionally, many phones were left behind in autos, taxis, buses, metros, and e-rickshaws. After the loss, concerned individuals had filed complaints at various Noida police stations. Losing a mobile phone not only incurs a financial setback but also affects access to important contacts, personal documents, photos, and other vital information.

The recovery of these smartphones provided significant relief to the affected individuals. The Surveillance Cell analyzed technical evidence and utilized the CEIR portal to identify and locate the devices. Through persistent efforts, the police teams successfully recovered a total of 108 smartphones from various brands, which were then returned to their owners.

The grateful recipients expressed their appreciation for the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police. They noted that the return of their valuable devices brought immense relief. This operation is viewed as a testament to the effective use of technical resources and the proactive approach of law enforcement.
