Mumbai, March 14: Actor Gaurav Gera recently appeared on the quiz reality show ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ where he performed his famous ‘Doodh Soda’ scene from the hit character in the film ‘Dhurandhar.’ During the show, he shared that many people are surprised to learn that he played the role of Mohammad Alam, who sells milk soda while dressed as a grandmother.
Gaurav stated, “Many people don’t even recognize me because of the grandmother disguise. They can’t believe it’s me.”
In a humorous exchange, host Akshay Kumar joked, “You should carry a fake grandmother with you. When no one recognizes you, just say, ‘Yes, it’s me!’” This comment drew laughter from the audience present in the studio.
Gaurav’s portrayal of the grandmother character became a highlight of the blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar,’ released in December 2025, and was widely appreciated by audiences. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2,’ which is set to hit theaters on March 19.
The promotional team for the upcoming film is actively engaged in various activities. Alongside Gaurav, special guests Ayesha Khan and Rakesh Bedi also appeared on the show. Gaurav discussed both his old and new roles, revealing that the makeup and look for the grandmother character were so convincing that people often fail to recognize him in real life.
Akshay and Gaurav reminisced about their past collaborations, mentioning films they worked on together, including ‘Chalo Dilli,’ ‘The Shaukeens,’ and ‘Chhote Miyan Bade Miyan,’ released in 2011.
‘Wheel of Fortune’ airs Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and is also available for streaming on Sony Liv.
