Gas Shortage Amid Middle East Tensions: A Government Failure, Says Mritunjay Tiwari

Patna, March 21: The ongoing conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran is impacting the supply of gas and crude oil. Concerns are growing that the war may extend for a prolonged period. On Saturday, Mritunjay Tiwari, spokesperson for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), described the situation as alarming.

Tiwari criticized the government regarding the gas crisis, stating, “This is a failure of the government. People are standing in line due to the gas shortage. Who will take responsibility for the cooking gas not being available?”

He also commented on the success of the film “Dhamaal 2,” saying, “Those who enjoy the movie are watching it.”

Political activity is intensifying in Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accepted the resignation of Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, leading to heightened political discourse. Tiwari responded to this issue, labeling it as a decision made by the Mann government.

He noted, “It is the prerogative of any Chief Minister to decide who to accept a resignation from. The Chief Minister of Punjab and his party members can explain the decision he made.”

Tiwari praised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s announcement to provide ₹1,700 monthly to SC-ST women. He remarked, “Mamata Banerjee is consistently working for SC-ST women and the people of Bengal. She has made another announcement, and if the government is formed again, a new scheme for SC-ST women will be introduced.”

Voting for the 294 assembly seats in West Bengal will occur in two phases, with the first phase on April 23 and the second on April 29. The results for all seats will be declared on May 4.
